Corbett National Park

Jaipur City Tourism, Rajasthan


Prince of Whales must have been amused by this beatific city when it was dyed in Pink to impress him. The story began in 1872 by Maharaja Man Singh II (Sawai Jai Singh) when he thought of it. Since then the capital city of Rajasthan, Jaipur is known as Pink City of Rajasthan.

To add, Jaipur is the first city of India that was planned with Shilpa Shastra - an ancient Indian treatise on architecture. The city is painted pink every 10 years by the Municipal Corporation retaining its age old tradition.
